What to Expect

When you walk in the door on a Sunday morning you will find a warm and inviting atmosphere.  We offer two different worship styles. Our Traditional Worship service is at 9:00  a.m. on the first and third Sunday of the month. We also have a Contemporary/Praise and Worship service on the second and fourth Sunday of the month. We offer the Sacrament of Holy Communion once a month, usually on the first Sunday.  After services from 10:00-11:00 a.m., we have a time of fellowship for conversation and connection.  Refreshments are provided by our Fellowship Committee or volunteers.  You will see a wide-range of attire, so come in what you're comfortable wearing.

Traditional Worship

This service follows a semi-formal order of worship that is both printed and projected on a screen.  The service contains liturgy of unison and response, creeds from our Christian traditions, the Lord's Prayer and prayers written by the pastor and laity.  Our Pastor inspires those present with thought provoking, relevant sermons for thinking people.  Included in the service is an opportunity to share our joys and concerns.  Offering is done by passing the plate.  We sing hymns accompanied by piano, organ and trumpet.  Special music is provided by choir, handbells and other instruments or soloists.  We occasionally have drama, speakers and personal witness.  We close with announcements followed by a benediction in unison.  Casual dress is acceptable.

Contemporary/Praise and Worship

This service is a very informal, "come as you are" style of worship.  Participants are encouraged to worship God with all their hearts, minds, souls and body by standing, sitting, dancing, clapping or raising their arms.  Our hope is that those present can feel free to connect with and honor God, in whatever way they choose.  Our Pastor inspires those present with thought provoking, relevant messages for thinking people.  Songs of praise are projected on a screen accompanied by gifted singers, guitarists, instrumentalists, and a drummer.  We occasionally have drama, speakers on local missions, ministries and personal witness.  Questioning is encouraged.  We close with announcements and a group prayer.  Offering is placed in a plate by the door upon leaving the sanctuary.

Sacrament of Holy Communion

The Sacrament of Holy Communion is open to all people whether they are Christian or not or members or not.  We believe that God is present in the Sacrament and can touch anyone who is open to the healing, loving grace-filled presence of God.  We encourage everyone to come forward to receive the elements of bread and juice when they are truly open to the peace of God and ready to be forgiven, transformed and loved by God.  Those that can not come forward will be served in the pew.  We use juice instead of wine and also provide gluten-free bread.  We offer the Sacrament of Holy Communion once a month, usually on the first Sunday of each month.

Children and Youth

Children are always welcome to be in the worship service with their family.  Worship bags containing fun activities for your child are available in the back of the sanctuary.    Childcare for children under three is available in our Childcare Center, located in the east section of the building.  Age-appropriate Sunday School classes are available for children and youth over three years of age from 9:00-10:00 a.m.  Classes are held on the second floor of our building.  Parents are encouraged to go to the classrooms and meet their child's teacher.  A "Guardian Angel" is available to show you where to go.

Godly Play is available for children age three through twelve during the 11:00 a.m. service.  This class is held upstairs in Room 201.
